Journalism capstone students publish stories in commemorative tornado edition

Students enrolled in JMC 597 Collaborative Journalism Capstone contributed stories from the 270 Stories website to the “We Will Remember” special section published by Paxton Media Group.

“We Will Remember” detailed the Dec. 10, 2021 EF-4 tornado that chewed a path of destruction through far western Kentucky. Journalism students contributed articles that they had written for their capstone project, 270 Stories, to the publication. 

Students were Dionte Berry, Connor Capito, Rachel Essner, Dustin Wilcox and Emery Wainscott. 

Their capstone project, 270 Stories, focused on the recovery and resilience of Mayfield and Marshall County residents in the year following the tornado. Their project featured digital news stories, photographs, videos, podcasts and social media.
