The Murray State TV Club offers members ways to explore all aspects of video production through hands-on opportunities. The club’s mission is to give members access to the entire production process from storyboarding to operating a camera to audio designing and editing. This fall semester, every weekly meeting focused on a specific skillset and an during which members could apply what they learned in a collaborative setting.
The TV Club has access to the high-quality equipment used in JMC courses the TV Production/Visual Communication majors, which is advantageous for club members. They work with professional tools that would be cost-prohitive or impossible to access outside of an academic course. TV Club serves as a creative outlet and aa community for it members. Beyond practicing their technical skills. Members are encouraged to share ideas, collaborate and develop their skills outside of meetings.
TV Club prides itself on fostering teamwork and creativity while also offering support to fellow students. Looking ahead, TV Club is preparing for a highly anticipated project, the annual Film Fest. The festival is planned for the spring 20206 semester. It is a month-long competition that tasks teams to create short films to be screened and judged at a campus showcase. The event allows members to showcase what they have learned throughout the year and invites participation from other organizations on campus, including writers, actors and storytellers.
