Murray State Ads Club meets every Tuesday in Wilson Hall, and this fall, they have been working tirelessly on a campaign for the National Football League (NFL) as part of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) annual competition.
During Homecoming 2025 Tent City, the club continued its annual fundraising tradition by selling stickers and glow-in-the-dark glasses for students and alumni to wear during what was set to be the first-ever MSU drone show. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled due to bad weather, but the students’ enthusiasm and dedication made the sale a success nonetheless.
To help prepare ad major/minors for professional experiences, Ads Club hosted Scottlynn Ballard, a 2024 public relations graduate, journalism minor and former student reporter for WKMS. Ballard is currently an account manager at TikTok and she spoke with club members via Zoom to share insights about her career, life after graduation. She offered valuable advice to students on how to secure a first jobs or an internship.
To top off the fall semester, Ads Club participated in the PRSSA Friendsgiving celebrating another successful year and the 100th anniversary of Wilson Hall. At its final meeting, members enjoyed a night if bowling night at Corvette Lanes to celebrate their hard work, dedication and everyoone’s achievements over the fall semester.
In the spring, the club members will continue working on the NFL campaign for the AAF, gaining more professional experience by competing in the Student Advertising competition.
