Panelists were, from left, Lisa Satterwhite, Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce; Megan Tubbs, CFSB; Katie Mantooth, MSU\u2008Career Services; and Tara Miller, Lourdes Foundation.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>The pros, representing advertising, journalism, public relations and TV production, talked with the JMC students about the job market, internships, resumes, job interviews and their experience in the communications field.<\/p>\n<p>After the sessions with the students, the pros had dinner with the JMC faculty\/staff and talked about their impressions of the current upperclassmen and about JMC graduates working in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bob Lochte, department chairman, said that the input from the pros serves as part of the outcome assessment data for the department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt helps us evaluate what we are doing in the classroom and make changes necessary to prepare our students for the marketplace,\u201d Lochte said.<\/p>\n<table CELLPADDING=\"10\" align=\"right\" bgcolor=\"#CCFFFF\">\n<tr>\n<td width=\"302\"><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jmcjournal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/advisorycouncil-300x146.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"146\" align=\"center\" border=\"1\"><\/center><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"322\"><font face=\"Arial, Helvetica\"><span style=\"font-size: 80%;\">The Department of Journalism and Mass Communications\u2019 advisory council participated in the \u201cMeet the Pros\u201d event in October and met with department faculty\/staff afterwards.
