Col. Robert Whitton, ‘66 Business, is retired from the U.S. Army

Dr. Nancy Strow Sheley, ‘68 English, is retired from California State University. Sheley received two Fulbright Awards: 2004 to study genocide in Rwanda and 2008 to teach university students in Cyprus.

Callie Smith, ‘20 Public Relations, is the director of community relations at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Ill.

*

Jordyn Rowland, ‘19 Public Relations, is a writer’s PA for “Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC.

*

Elizabeth Shaylor Fields, ‘16 and ‘19 public relations and advertising, is the community engagement director for Refuge for Women in Lexington, Ky.

*

Chris Jung, ‘07 journalism, is the director of marketing and community relations for Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville. Jung also received the 22 under 40 award from Murray State in 2021.

Shannon Voss, ‘98 advertising, is the customer growth manager for Coca-Cola Co.

*

Alissa Sommerfeldt, ‘17 public relations, is the senior public affairs associate at the Y-12 National Security Complex, Department of Energy, Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Desiree Isaac, ‘15 public relations and political science, is a staff attorney at Legal Aid of the Bluegrass.

*

McKenna Dosier, ‘18 journalism, is a copywriter for Osborn Barr Paramore.

*

Darlene Raye Jackson, ‘17 television production, is a theater assistant at the Alhambra Theater in Hopkinsville and does promotions for women in country music, podcasts and independent artists.

Paige Bold, ‘21 public relations, is a graduate teaching assistant.

*

Taylor Shea West, ‘21 journalism, is a reporter at the Mayfield Messenger newspaper and has been featured in several publications about her coverage of the EF4 tornado that damaged her hometown.

*

Phillip Dishon, ‘07 journalism and electronic media, is a graphic designer at Gannett and wrote a short horror screenplay titled “Everyone” that has been an official selection at 16 film festivals across the globe. The short took home the best of the fest screenplay award at the prestigious Hollywood Horrorfest and was also selected as a finalist at HorrOrigins Film Festival and Hellifax Horror Fest.   

Phill’s most recent short screenplay, “Staring Contest,” was just selected as a quarter finalist at the Killer Shorts Horror Short Screenplay Competition. This one page micro-short was selected out of over 1,500 submissions, and the quarter finalist placing represents being in the top 10% of entries. The contest is sponsored by Shudder and Final Draft software. Semi-finalists will be announced in late February.
